before we start:
use the up, down, left and right keys on your remote to navigate through the service menu. left and right are for accessing sub menus BUT ALSO FOR CHANGING VALUES! 
ok lets access the service menu. make sure your set is in 4:3 mode. a warning before you access it.. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT PRESS LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN YOU JUST ACCESS THE MENU.

press 062596 and then the [i+] button on your remote.

you will see a menu like this:
