Officieel is de nieuwe Arabsat 4A klaar voor lancering en de datum staat op 28.02.2006 20:10 UTC

Je kan het live volgen op een speciaal kanaal op Arabsat 3A (26E)

Meer is momenteel te volgen op de officiele Arabsat website, de nieuw satteliet heeft 20 K-U transponders, en 22 C-Band transponders.

C-band ontvangst in Europa is perfect. De nieuwe satteliet heeft veel transponders voor HD kanalen, en Arabsat is de eerste satteliet voor HD kanalen in het midden oosten, ik denk dat het Orbit pakket snel over zal gaan op HD na de lancering.

• T-2:23 - Flight nominal. Plus 80 seconds. 21km high

• T-2:24 - 33km high. First and second stage sep

• T-2:24 - 65km high. 170 seconds

• T-2:30 - Flight nominal. Payload faring seperation

• T-2:41 - Breeze M shutdown as expected. 50 minute coast period. Four hour mission time for spacecraft seperation.

• T-6:47 - Mission failure according to ILS hotline number

• T-6:50 - Upperstage failure. Mission failure

"The Proton Breeze M rocket lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 2:10 a.m. today local time (3:10 p.m. Tuesday EST, 20:10 Tuesday GMT). Preliminary flight information indicates that the Breeze M upper stage shut down early during its planned burn sequence. As a contingency, the satellite was separated. We cannot comment on the disposition of the spacecraft at this time.

 

"A Russian State Commission is being formed to determine the reasons for the anomaly. In parallel with the State Commission, ILS will form its own Failure Review Oversight Board to review reasons for the anomaly and define a corrective action plan. ILS will release additional information when it becomes available.

Arabsat 4B komt er ook aan later dit jaar.
