Gerard
EchoNAV 2.0 Beta release
B E T A S O F T WA R E R E L E A S E !
We thank you for donloading our beta software from our web site.
This software release adds new features to the EchoNAV user interface and improves the functionality of the previous version. More detailed information about new features:
- New languages added:

Spanish, Italian, Polish, Greek, Swedish and Serbian-Croatian.
- Group and sort behaviour

The Grouping and Sorting settings in the channel list are remembered in EchoNAV2.0. This means that any grouping or sorting applied in the channel list will remain active until changed. To aid the user in determining whether he has a Grouping or Sorting option selected we have placed an icon on the InfoBanner to indicate this. This icon will change depending on whether you have selected the All List, Current Satellite list, a favorite list or if Grouping/Sorting is selected. The user therefore can see in a glance what the status is.

Please be aware that you can get empty lists if the group/sort setting gives no results.
- Channel information

For certain customers it is important to be able to call up additional channel information when zapping. This is now possible in EchoNAV2.0 by pressing the ‘I’ key three times (once to show the InfoBanner, a second time to show the extended EPG information, and the third time to show the additional channel information
- Manual local oscillator entry

In EchoNAV2.0 you can enter a LO frequency directly when creating a User LNB.
- EPG

In EchoNAV2.0 the start and stop time is shown in the extended EPG information screen (press ‘i’ key twice while watching a channel). This is especially helpful when scrolling through multiple day scheduled EPG information.

In EchoNAV2.0 after making changes in the channel list (move, lock, delete, hide, volume, rename, etc.) you are prompted to confirm these changes. In some cases if users would “play” with the software and unknowingly for instance delete a channel, it was previously not possible to undo these changes. In EchoNAV2.0 you are prompted to confirm these changes before they become permanent.
- Faster “Move” Functionality in Channel Lists
- Direct channel number entry

During a Move you can enter the channel number where the selected channel should be placed.

- Recall after Move

After dropping a channel in its new place you can press the Recall key to jump back to the spot in the list where you came from. This allows you to quickly jump back and forth between for instance the end of the list and the beginning of the list when moving channels.
- Set East/West Limit Menu

We have included a new menu under the Installation menu for setting East/West limits. This allows the user to move the limits after the receiver has been set up.
- Edit functions separated

In EchoNAV2.0 we have separated the various editing functions. In the previous software version when you select Move for instance, you would also be shown the lock and delete options at the same time. In EchoNAV2.0 you only see the selected Edit function (only Move for instance). We feel this is less daunting to the user and it also enhances speed in certain instances.

When you have any comments, please send your comments to echonav.beta@echostar.com

Please be so kind to inform us which receiver, dish installation and software version you have used.
