De BBC heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt dat ze vanaf 7 uur 's ochtends op 26 maart BBC Two HD gaan lanceren. BBC Two HD zal de plek in nemen van BBC HD. De lancering van BBC Two HD volgt de succesvolle lancering van BBC One HD.

When does BBC2 HD launch?

The BBC2 HD launch date has been set for March 2, at 6am in the morning. For spectacles wearers you can reenact the moment by taking them off, gazing at the slightly blurry screen and then putting them back on to see things sharper.

Dat zal wel oude info zijn. Ik lees overal dat het 26 maart gebeurd.

 

Zoals b.v. op de Engelstalige Wikipedia: "It was announced on 19 February 2013 that a HD simulcast of BBC Two would commence on 26 March 2013 at 6am. This will be a single UK service without national variations".

Ik vraag me af of er ook wel eens programma's van Three of Four op BBC HD te zien waren. Die zouden dan gemist moeten worden.

 

Ook vraag ik me af wat bijvoorbeeld Ziggo nu gaat doen. One HD en Two HD doorgeven?

Tijdens muziekfestivals deden ze dat wel, ook bij bepaalde sportevenementen week BBC HD wel eens af van BBC Two. Qua gewone programma's weet ik het eigenlijk niet.

BBC HD wijkt vrijwel altijd af van BBC TWO. Het zijn aparte stations.

Natuurlijk zijn het aparte stations. Maar voornamelijk in de avonduren zijn veel programma's van BBC Two gelijktijdig in HD op BBC HD te zien.

Krijg nou tieten,

 

Even de programmagegevens van BBC TWO en BBC HD (UK) naast elkaar gelegd en inderdaad tussen 18:00 en 23:20 UK Time zijn ze bijna identiek. Heb waarschijnlijk te lang naar BBC HD Nordic gekeken..

BBC HD will close down in the very early hours of 26 March 2013 but will always
have a special place in the BBC’s history as the first HD TV channel we
launched. It began as a trial service in 2006 and since then has played an
important role offering the best of the BBC in HD. It’s also been the means for
us to broadcast 3D programmes as part of the BBC’s 3D trial over the past couple
of years.

I can assure you that we have some brilliant minds working on
the tricky question of how to find an affordable way to broadcast HD programmes
that are scheduled on BBC Three, BBC Four, CBeebies and CBBC. I will update you
as and when we have more news.

Most BBC Three and all BBC Four series
that are shown on BBC HD will come to an end before BBC HD closes, so you’re
unlikely to be in the situation of missing the end of the series if you have
chosen to record it in HD, but please do check to be on the safe side. The two
exceptions are In the Flesh and Bluestone 42, for which you will need to set up
recordings on BBC Three in order to catch the end of the series. I’m afraid
that, until we are able to broadcast BBC Three and BBC Four and the children’s
channels in HD, you’ll need to record programmes in standard definition after 26
March

between the closing of BBC HD 1:20am and the opening of BBC TWO HD at 6:05am there will be a break. I have it on good authority that the break will be filled with all the testcards ever used by the BBC. It might be worth setting up a recording or staying up late or getting up early, if you are interested in that kind of thing.

Ja. Aantal testkaarten viel tegen. Stuk of 4 a 5, waaronder de huidige in HD, 3D en als de oude 4:3 versie.
