smart card readers & STB 04500

Hi,

 

I would like to ask if somebody have access to IBM

STB 04500 chip development documentation. I was

unsucessfully searchin on the web (Google,

mailing-list, ...).

 

It seems that current images don't have any

support for smart card readers at all.

I would like to revive those readers because

it get us a big advantage of using Dreambox.

Without that is this simple one CI-module

It seems that IBM provides devel docu ONLY

for their customers, so there isn't simple

way to get it from IBM directly.

Hi,

 

sorry, I've been looking for documentation too... without success. The 2.5.xx kernel source does have a little bit of documentation. It contains some header files with all the register locations and/or numbers (ibmstb4.h and ppc_40x.h). But they do not contain *what* to write to them:-(

 

For the moment, the only alternative would be to disassemble binary code. The problem is that the latest dream.o module does not contain any code that accesses the smartcards. (or at least not to my knowledge)

Ik denk dat het juist beter is van ook Engels toe te laten. Dat vergroot alleen maar de kans op goeie informatie. Het doet me denken aan die Duitse dreambox boards. Djeezes, ik lees Duits dus tien keer trager dan Engels of Nederlands. Ok der is wel zoiets als the babel fish maar echt geweldige output geeft die niet.

 

Een enkele topic voor alle Engelse vragen en info?

I agree this forum should maintain the language of origin, however topics like this could offer a great breaktrough and advantage to all dreambox users with serious delopment plans and skills, and thus offer a huge advantage to all end users.

 

Nederlands:

Ik ben het er mee eens dat dit forum de taal van origine aan zou moeten houden, echter zouden dit soort topics een grote doorbraak en voordelen kunnen betekenen voor de dreambox gebruikers met serieuze ontwikkel plannen en vaardigheden, en dus ook voordelen voor de dreambox eindgebruikers.
