Nieuwe emu based on beta104a !!!

Yo allemaal,

 

Ik heb zojuist een update op mijn image ge'upload, met oa. de fixes van mcduff voor het op nemen van encrypted kanalen.

AUB. deze "fix2" downloaden. Vorige bleek niet helemaal in orde. Ik heb wat meer koffie nodig.. :-(

 

 

Known problems in this release:

 

- When switching to teletext, some TV's might sometimes switch away from

their SCART-input. This problem seems to be present in the official

releases from Dream Multimedia as well and seems to mostly happen only

the first time you switch to teletext after turning on your box and

TV-set. Simply switch your TV back to SCART when this happens. I

didn't find a working Tuxtxt to replace the existing one with yet,

but if you do, simply place it into "/var/tuxbox/modules/". It would

be nice if you would let me know as well.

 

- I've had several reports of crashes and experienced one myself as well

(a kernel panic), but they seem very rare. My box has been running for

several days now, without any problems. Try powercycling your box when

this happens often. Seems like simply shutting down or rebooting your

box doesn't always bring the hardware back to it's initial state. This

is what I did as well, and it seems to have helped.

 

- Several people reported short freezes, especially on the German provider

Premiere. These should be greatly reduced in this release, but still

occasionally happen. They're probably related to the mgcamd I'm using,

but at least TPSCrypt and Conax works. If you don't like my choice of

mgcamd, I made it easy for you to replace it. If you think yours is better

and can convince me too, I'll even include yours in the next release. :-)

 

- I've had several reports of problems with motorized dishes. This problem

is present in the official releases as well. Dream Multimedia should

release a fix soon and I will base my release on that, if possible.

 

- At least for me, the audio doesn't seem to get routed to the VCR-

SCART correctly. This problem also seems to be present in the official

releases. Tweaking "/var/tuxbox/config/scart.conf" in the right way

will probably fix it. Typing `scart' at the telnet-prompt does, too,

but will need to be repeated every time you change channels.

20030118:

 

* People upgrading to this release from my initial release won't have to

follow the flash erase-procedure from the installation notes.

 

- Finally got the descrambler working in the beta104a.5-drivers. Many thanks

to mcduff from the Sat4all-board for figuring out how to do this in the

release1.02-drivers, after which patching those from beta104a.5 was

peanuts. :-)

- Included a newer mgcamd, which handles TPS correctly and should do Conax

as well. Added a hack to work around the segfaults in this mgcamd and

built in support for calling "/var/bin/camd" instead, if it exists and

is executable, to be able to add your own.

 

20030120:

 

* People upgrading to this release from my initial release won't have to

if you want to add your own modules, you're going to have to create

the directory "/var/modules/" manually in this case.

 

- This version will record encrypted channels (almost) properly! Only

at most the first 2 seconds will still be recorded encrypted, which

will probably be fixed soon. Again, many thanks to mcduff, who figured

this one out as well.

 

- Minor bug-fixes in my camd-wrapper. In the previous release, no

arguments where passed to "/var/bin/camd", which effectively made this

whole feature useless. Noticed it just 10 minutes or so after release.

Anyways, fixed now. "mgcamd"-processes had the tendency to linger around

for a while after zapping on some providers. My wrapper now shoots those.

Also, the interval in which mgcamd is restarted has been lowered to

2 seconds. Some providers (most notably, Premiere) seemed to need this,

as the picture sometimes froze for a short while.

 

- I now disabled the saving of core-files completely. Every 2 seconds is

just a bit too often. Nothing prevents those who know what they're doing

from enabling them again (could be done from "/var/tuxbox/start_enigma").

 

- Minor changes to the init-scripts. Now also execute "/var/etc/profile"

right after "/etc/profile", if it exists, to allow you to change the

environment.

 

- Now loads alternative modules from "/var/modules/", if they exist there.

Be very careful with this! If you add a module which kills the kernel

on loading, for example, you might have to do a full flash-erase and

recover from a backup of your full flash (which you should know how to

make when experimenting with this in the first place. :-)

Sorry voor de verwarring. Ik was weer eens te veel dingen tegelijk aan het doen en heb per ongeluk een totaal verkeerd image in de eerste "fix" gestopt. Helaas lijkt het erop alsof je je uploads niet simpel kunt verwijderen van UMP. Pak de laatst ge'uploade versie! Ik ga de admins van UMP wel om hulp vragen bij het deleten.

Ik kan Kiosk op Thor niet echt goed testen, omdat m'n spullen thuis alleen Astra / Hotbird doen. Als iemand mij een PM zou kunnen sturen met de console-output op zo'n kanaal, kan ik wellicht zien waar het probleem zit.

 

Dit image is niet op die met nieuwe kernel gebaseerd. Aangezien Dream toch zeer binnenkort met een nieuwe release zou moeten komen waarin de problemen gefixed zijn, leek het me een beetje zinloos, want het om zetten van al mijn veranderingen naar een nieuwe officiele release kost enorm veel werk. Zodra Dream met hun volgende release komt, ga ik die wel als basis gebruiken, uiteraard.

ik had je image gedownload en head het gemerkt dat het de verkeerde was maar het komt allemaal goed jammer alleen dat het probleem met de rotor nog niet echt is opgelost.

Hallo Bazzie dat is niet het werk van Traveller maar van dream duitsland. Volgens mij zijn ze daar druk mee bezig.

 

Plaats aub deze opmerking niet in dit topic. Als traveller daar mee bezig geweest zou zijn dan had hij dat vast en zeker in de read me file geschreven.

 

p.s. vind het ook jammer dat de rotor nog niet je van het is maar ja.

Bij mij stotterd het juist wel, ik neem op via het netwerk,100Mb verbinding.

In de start_enigma staat een regel iets met core hdd, waar is die voor?? Ik heb hem verwijderd.

Hi,

ik heb de download 3 keer opnieuw moeten beginnen, omdat hij 2 keer na ongeveer 2-3 Mb stopte.

Maar nu heb ik hem (iets meer dan 7,3 Mb)

Ik zie echter in het opstart scherm nog steeds de datum 18-1-2003, is dat juist of is er iets mis gegaan bij mij met het flashen???

 

p.s. de MMOV kanalen werken prima!

Welk knoppie heb je bedacht om een opgenomen film te stoppen? Als ik op de stopknop (zwarte vierkantje) druk, begint de film weer van voren af aan.

Verder lijkt de image perfect te werken. Heb dus toch niet voor niks een harddisk ingebouwd. Ben ook content met opstartscherm <img src="http://www.sat4all.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
