I don't think the LCD raw format poses a serious problem. Enigma writes to it in "binary" mode. So it's only a question of looking at the C++ code? Or am I missing something here?

 

The code in question can be found in:

./apps/tuxbox/enigma/lib/gdi/lcd.cpp

I presume similar code can be found in the neutrino and lcars sub dirs.

 

The same goes for the framebuffer device. Look at how enigma does the job.
