DreamFlash_v.1.0 Installatie

Hier een kleine handleiding om DreamFlash te installeren. (meerdere image's op je hdd)

 

1) Zet de laatste originele firmware in je dreambox. (MOET, Ronaldd image werkt niet!)

2) Stel je netwerk goed in.

3) Download Dream Flash

4) Pak de zip file uit, je krijgt dan de volgende bestanden :

setup.cfg

setup.so

ReadMe_eng

ReadMe_Ger

5) FTP de file tools.tar.gz naar de map /var/tmp/

6) FTP de files setup.so en setup.cfg naar de map /var/tuxbox/plugins/

7) Druk nu op de blauwe knop om naar de plugins te gaan

8) Start DreamFlash - SETUP op

9) Als dat klaar is mag je de box herstarten

10) Nu mag je de image's die je wilt gaan gebruiken in /hdd/ zetten

11) Start daarna de plugin (blauwe knop) DreamFlash - Image-Administration op

12) Kies voor Install new Image

13) Nu kun je kiezen welke image en welke naam hij moet krijgen in het boot menu

14) Als je de optie Config copy aanzet, kopieert hij alle huidige instellingen van de originele image.

15) Daarna op Install, box herstarten, en het bootmenu is een feit.

HowTo to start alternative images'(10) of USB,CF,HDD or NFS without modifying

 

the image of Dream.

Image of Dream must be on the box (Version >=rel106.img).

 

An USB-Stick or a Compact flash Card with at least 64 MB (is sufficient for

 

3-4 images).

 

If an image does not want to run once, simply remove the Stick or the CF and

 

reboot the box. A further flashing is not necessary.

 

The combination of CF and HDD is not possible (Bug in the Kerneldriver) but

 

all other combinations are not a problem.

Starting image from USB-Stick:

 

First,boot box without the Stick.

 

Once the original image is started, put in the stick.

 

Enter following by Telnet:

 

mkfs.ext3 /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc

 

mount /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc /var/mnt/usb

 

The Stick is formatted and linked into the system at Mountpoint

 

"/var/mnt/usb".

 

Since some USB-Sticks have to be mounted in "/dev/.../part1", the two

 

commands have to be changed.

 

Starting image from CF:

 

put in the CF and boot your box.

 

You can format the CF with following command:

 

umount /hdd

 

mkfs.ext3 /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1

 

mkdir /var/mnt/cf

 

mount /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 /var/mnt/cf

 

The CF is formatted and linked into the system at Mountpoint "/var/mnt/cf".

 

Starting image from HDD:

 

Who has movies on his HDD should safe them first.

 

You can format the HDD with following command:

 

umount /hdd

 

mkfs.ext3 /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1

 

mount /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 /hdd

 

mkdir /hdd/movie

 

The HDD is formatted and linked into the system at Mountpoint "/hdd"

 

Starting image from NFS-server:

 

I will not explain howto install an NFS-server at this point.

 

The NFS-drive is getting linked into the system by:

 

mount -t nfs -o rw,nolock 192.168.0.1:/dreambox /var/mnt/nfs

 

For "/dreambox" you must enter your NFS-directory.

 

I have tested the NFS option myself under Suse 8.2 and it ran without a

 

problem if the following comandline is entered in "exports" (/nfs/

 

192.168.0.60(rw,no_root_squash,sync)).

 

Running the Setup:

 

Copy the file "tools.tar.gz" with some FTP program to "/var/tmp"and the 2

 

"setup" files to "var/tuxbox/plugins". Now just start the plugin by pressing

 

the blue button.Restart Box and check if everything went right.

 

instal image:

 

You copy the image by FTP on the medium of your choice and start the

 

"DreamFlash Image-Administration" by pressing the blue button

 

USB - /var/mnt/usb

 

CF - /var/mnt/cf

 

HDD - /hdd

 

NFS - /var/mnt/nfs

 

Tips:

 

Some USB-Sticks have a so called "securityarea" that can cause problems

 

under Linux. You can delete this area with the corresponding Progamm (Buy-CD

 

to the Stick). With some users it already helped , when they have formatted

 

their Stick in Windows once before.

Ik zal vanavond de USB/CF/NFS testen

die Dreamflash V1.0 heb ik er ook in gezet.

Daarna een update gedaan naar de laatste Ronaldd (021003), werkt idd perfekt.

Vervolgens ook de Jirkas-Test erop gezet, werkt ook goed, muv FreeX-TV (wel geluid).

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kweetniet.gif" alt="" />Nu heb ik alleen de vraag waar de softcam.key gezet moet worden om de actuele keys bij te werken.

Mijn vermoeden is in de image van de USB-key. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loep.gif" alt="" />

Waarschijnlijk gebruik je de verkeerde emu.

Ik kan het niet duiderlijker typen <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> (inclusief link!)

Ze bedoelen daarmee dat je een 106 based image moet hebben (heeft te maken met de opbouw van de image)

voor degene die nog problemen hebben of het niet snappen

heb ik heb gisteren een komplete howto gemaakt in het nederlands inc. foto`s en een eenvoudige uitleg hoe je

met dreamflash v1.0 kunt werken en hoe te instaleren

 

komt zoals hemertje gisteren gemeld heeft vandaag op sjerom te staan

 

heb het goed getest en het werkt als een speer

ook de keyupdate werkt prima hij onhoud het keurig

een klein nadeel

freextv werkt niet met de jirka image op usb dat heeft te maken dat die terug grijpt op de kernal en die moet in de dreambox staan

voor de rest super nog nooit zo eenvoudig geweest een image geladen en te wissen zonder te flashen en je favorieten image blijft gewoon staan en je kunt andere images testen

het beste resultaat wordt berijkt met een usb stick of een cf in een 6 in een kaartlezer

de rest werkt ook prima kost alleen hdd ruimte

hmm als ik jirka's selecteer in het menu krijg ik-

enter ip:

 

ip seted!

 

en dan loopt ie vast met dat in beeld. Wat doe ik fout??

Klopt had het zelfde probleem hier.

Even wissen en dan ff opnieuw er op en het vinkje bij Config copy uitlaten dan gaat het goed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xyxthumbs.gif" alt="" />

Bij de Ronald werkte dit wel.
