bios update lukt niet

Ik heb een p3 en wil er een bios update doen.

Maar het gaat niet of ik doe het niet goed.

Ik heb update gedownload op een a schijf gezet.

de pc met opstart disk opgestart het exe bestand geopent.

dan moet je wat invoeren en verder kom ik niet wat moet er ingevoerd worden of is er een makelijke methode.

Je moet nog wel de naam van de bios update-file ingeven.

je hebt een flash-programma nodig (aflash.exe voor award biossen bijv.) en de bin-file met de software.

als je .exe draait moet je inderdaad de naam van het .bin bestand geven.

 

mag ik vragen waarom je je bios wilt updaten ? dit is nl. niet geheel zonder risico.

ik wil een 80 gb schijf plaatsen en dat kan deze niet aan.

Ik heb een moederbord ms 6163 pro

je hebt dit bestand nodig. lees even goed het word-document wat erbij zit, daarmee zou het niet fout mogen gaan.

Ben er toch mee aan het stoeien gegaan, maar op jouw txt bestand staat ex: een bepaalde filenaam (ik neem aan dat dat een voorbeeldnaam is), waar kan ik de naam van het bestand vinden van bios, die ik wil overschrijven. Want ik krijg steeds een foutmelding, kan file niet vinden. De software die ik erop heb zitten is AWARD, ROM PCI/ISA BIOS (2a69km4k)??

Note1: This BIOS is a Plug 'n Play BIOS, and has to be used with SST or Winbond Flash Memory.If this BIOS is programmed in EPROM or other brands of Flash Memory (not SST nor Winbond), there will be a problem with Windows 95 RESTART function.

 

Note2: If your on-board BIOS is AMI BIOS and you want to program the Award BIOS file into the on-board BIOS, you must use the "AMI" flash utility (i.e.: AMIFL530.COM, AMIFL620.COM).

How to use the AMI FLASH Utility

 

This utility is used to program a new BIOS into a Flash memory. You have to make sure first that the BIOS installed in your mainboard is Flash memory and not EPROM.

 

1. Turn on your computer.

 

2. Boot up clean, bypassing your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.

 

3. Then, run the AMI FLASH UTILITY file.

 

DRIVE:\>AMI_FLASH UTILITY_FILE BIOS_FILE

EX: C:\>AMIFL530 A37A.ROM

 

The programming screen will be shown. At the bottom of the screen, the following message will appear:

 

Press "Y" to Continue, "N" to Reboot

 

Press "N" if you do not want to continue programming the new BIOS.

 

Press "Y" if you want to continue programming the new BIOS. The new BIOS will then be programmed. When it has finished programming, the following message will appear:

 

Flash EPROM Program Successful. Press Any Key to Reboot.

 

You have successfully programmed the new BIOS.

 

 

 

How to use the AWARD FLASH Utility

 

This utility is used to program a new BIOS into a Flash memory. You have to make sure first that the BIOS installed in your mainboard is Flash memory,

and not EPROM.

 

1. Turn on your computer.

 

2. Boot up clean, bypassing your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.

 

3. Then, run the AWDFLASH.EXE file.

The programming screen will be shown. You will prompt to enter the filename:

At the bottom of the screen, the following message will appear:

 

Do you want to save BIOS (Y/N)?

 

Press "N" if you do not want to save the old BIOS.

 

Press "Y" if you want to save the old BIOS. Enter file name to save.

 

File name to save: __________

 

After saving the old BIOS, the following message will appear at the bottom of the screen:

 

Are you sure to program (Y/N)?

 

Press "N" if you do not want to program the new BIOS.

 

Press "Y" if you want to continue programming the new BIOS. The new BIOS will then be programmed. When it has finished programming, the following message will appear:

 

Flash EPROM Program Successful.

 

You have successfully programmed the new BIOS.

 

 

hopelijk kan je hier wat mee. Het is Engels, ik weet het, maar aangezien het hier om een universele handeling gaat heb ik hem niet vertaald. ik neem aan dat dat geen probleem voor je is ?

een p3 kan toch wel een 80GbHd aan? probeer anders eens met de juiste software voor die schijf.

en anders mischien verstandig om de update te laten doen, want een klein foutje en je p3 sterft in je armen.

How To Upgrade BIOS:

1. Make a bootable system floppy disk by typing [FORMAT A:/S] from the DOS prompt.

2. Download the BIOS file from MSI web page.

3. Extract the BIOS file into the bootable floppy.

4. Boot up system with the bootable floppy disk.

5. Run Award (Ex. Awdfl770) or AMI (Ex. amifl822.exe) Flash utility & follow the on-screen

instructions.

6. After flashing the BIOS, reboot system, press [DEL] to go into BIOS setup.

7. Select [Load Setup Default] for or [Load Optimized Defaults] and press Key [Enter] and

press Key [Y].

8. Press Key [F10] than answer [Y] to reboot system again and finish upgrade procedure.

 

Heb je helemaal GEEN ervaring met BIOS flashen, zoek dan iemand die dat vaker gedaan heeft, OF neem zelf het risico.

Onderbreek onder GEEN GEVAL de stroom, hiermee zal de updrade mislukken en moet de BIOS chip extern geprogrammeerd worden.

 

Er is dan nog wel een truuk, maar dan heb je iemand nodig in de buurt, die hetzelfde motherboard heeft. Dan zet je "hot" de bios chip over en plaatst daarna de oude weer terug en programmeerd em alsnog. Maar dit is wel tricky en een precair werkje...

Mischien toch veiliger om maar een utility van je harde schijf fabrikant te gebruiken zoals cobes al zei. Als je geen ervaringen met biossen updaten hebt en het gaat mis... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hallo allemaal

 

Bios ziet de schijf wel maar hij geeft niets aan.

Hij start niet op, hij loopt vast met het opstarten.

Zet ik hem in bios uit kan ik wel via een andere schijf op die van 80 gig kijken en schijven.

Maar ik wil hem gebruiken als c schijf.

Wie weet wat ik kan doen als ie in bios aan geeft hoeveel gig hij is.

Hij loopt ook vast als ik hem in bios automatich laat zoeken naar de hardisk. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpdown.gif" alt="" />

hernoem de bios die een bepaalde extensie heeft (awd bij asus dacht ik, zal hier wel anders zijn)op je diskette naar een makkelijke naam zoals 123

 

Wat vraagt die precies als je boot vanaf de siskette?? Als die een naam vraagt voor de nieuwe bios kies je de nieuwe bios, als die een naam vraagt om te backuppen kies je zelf een naam.

 

Heeft MSI geen windows update tool zoals ASUS? Dan kun je de bios gewoon onder windows updaten.

 

Heb je de harde schijf jumpers achterop de harde schijf wel goed gezet het kan zijn dat beide HDD jumpersop master staan. Dan wil die niet booten inderdaad. De ene moet master zijn en de andere slave, de master is je start schijf meestal, het is in ieder geval beter om het zo te doen.

Ik heb alle twee schijven als master staan en dan kan ik er 1 in bios uit zetten en dan start ie de andereschijf op.

zo heb ik dat altijd gedaan maar als ik de 80 gig schijf er alleen in zet doet ie het ook niet .

ik denk nu dat het in de boot zit van de schijf.

het is een Seagate schijf
